Nicaragua: Mercado Municipal de Granada

Mercado Municipal de Granada

Mercado Municipal de Granada

This is a market for locals and for adventurous travelers seeking an authentic Granada experience. You will find most anything (other than a large collection of souvenir trinkets) and will likely walk away with at least an unsettled stomach.

Located just one block from Parque Central, it is centered in a building that has survived for over a century. It is busy, crowded, sprawling and will tickle all of your senses. Though it feels chaotic, there is an element of organization as vendors with similar products are grouped together.IMG_0320 copy

Be forewarned, the open air meat market may well upset your sensibilities, but this is where the locals shop. The sections of beans, fruits and breads will delight you.

We quickly walked through the market and I captured a few images. Most of the images should be considered as street photography since they were quickly executed. You can click on any image to see a larger version.

A transition from one floor to another provided a great view point.

Reminds me of the market in Ayacucho, Peru. It’s so fascinating, the sights, sounds and especially the smells. And don’t apologize for your photos; they are great just the way they are – they capture the moment.

Hello everyone,. . I am looking to buy a new computer to run an Adobe CS4 Suite. Let just say the Master Suite. I’m mostly going to be running Premiere, Illustrator and Photoshop. I want a computer that is going to completely dominate without any problems whatsoever. Price is not an issue, I want to do this right. . . I want the computer to run as many applications I need at the same time flawlessly without slowing down or crashing. Any ideas?.
