Early Winter in Wisconsin often displays the breaths of winter upon a landscape that has just been covered with a light blanket of snow. Cloudless nights allow the day’s blanket of warm air to escape into the atmosphere quickly dropping the temperature. Nature’s moist breath then forms delicate frost on the landscape. The humidity around this drainage canal remains high due to open water causing more hoar frost than in the surrounding area.
